Dear Live Connection Partners                                                                                          September Newsletter

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus!

  • Thank you for your prayer support for Stuart Willis during his adventures in Africa. Please continue to pray for him as he comes to the end of his time there and readjusts to life in Australia. We are looking forward to hearing the reports from all the he has countries visited.
  • It is now 2 months since the Mission Team returned from Africa. James was happy to share some of his experiences; the full report can be found on the website in the ‘Testimonies’ section.

Having recently returned from the 2016 mission trip to South Africa & Malawi, my understanding of how the world works has taken a further step forward as part of my Christian walk. The main lesson for me was that as much as we were blessing the people there with our presence, teaching and materials, it was the locals’ joy and contentment which blessed us more. It is difficult to put into words how the trip was, so I simply say “the best” when people ask. I think as a young man and follower of Jesus, it assists so much to have an understanding of how God is working beyond Australia.

I label the time spent in some of the poorest communities within Malawi as the best and worst week of my life simultaneously; the worst due to the heartbreaking poverty which left me confused about the world and its injustices. However, as I wrestled with that, I looked ‘beyond the rubble’ and into the hearts of the people there and God brought me to 1 Timothy 6:6: “But Godliness with contentment is great wealth”. I’ve never before witnessed such passion and zeal for the gospel and the reach for the community that the Malawians had. These experiences allowed me to put names to faces and stories I’d heard back home to seeing the raw challenges that these leaders face daily as they look to take the gospel message to their communities.

Thank you, James!

  • In previous years, many of you have sent a bit extra for your pastors for Christmas. If you would like to do so this year, please can you let me know asap as the next transfer will be sent mid November. I can either add it to your Credit card deduction, or for Direct Deposit, simply Ref your name and Christmas.

1 Timothy 6:7,8 continues… “For we brought nothing into this world and can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.”

Thank you so much for playing your part in keeping your pastors fed and clothed, especially those in South Sudan, many of whom have had to flee their homes and are now living in refugee camps. Bishop John recently sent a lengthy report which I have sent to those who have Sudanese pastors. Please let me know if you would like to receive it and I shall send it to you.

Blessings
Anne

  • Please Note: I shall be on leave from 24 October to 14 November. Paul and Glenyce will be in the office as usual but some matters will wait for attention on my return.
