News! November News
Dear Live Connection Partners,
What a momentous month this has been – both for Australia and for 2 of our African countries – Zimbabwe & South Sudan.
For many years the pastors and their congregations in Zimbabwe have been fasting and praying for real change. With the excellent news coverage of the final days of Robert Mugabe’s presidency, when the end finally came, the excitement and joy of the people there could be felt – even through the TV!
With no looting, no burning, no rioting and not even any reports of petty theft, we truly witnessed a miracle unfold.
However, after decades of mismanagement, it will take patience, commitment and dedication to the task at hand in restoring the economy and the lives of the people. Many exciting prophecies have been spoken over Zimbabwe and we all need to continue to pray that God will watch over His word and that this will be the beginning of a new era.
In South Sudan, after a short time of peace after Independence in 2011, war again engulfed the area. Many were forced to flee and for years have been living in towns and refugee camps in Kenya & Uganda, while time and again the so-called ‘peace talks’ stalled and failed. The Sudanese pastors have also been praying and are trusting that God has heard their prayers. On 13 November, the Governor declared that Duk (which is where most of the Live Connection pastors are from) was to be the centre for a new peace initiative between the citizens of 4 of the States in that area. The Anglican Church were in-charge, and many of the pastors returned to Duk to be there for the peace and reconciliation talks between the Nuer and Dinka people.
Again, there is a real excitement, and this is what was sent to me:
“Anne, Tell all partner that we are doing well and the live is changing – not like before because no more killing like last time because we people of Duk we love Nuer and Nuer love us. We also give accommodation to people who came from other States and the Government peace maker. We are praying hard for the Lord to bless the peace and keep it in the hearts of the people. Thank so much may God bless you all.”
On 15/12/2017 there will be more formal talks. Please keep them in your prayers.
Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
We are truly thankful for every one of you. Thank you for continuing to stand with your pastors as they become catalysts for holistic transformation in their local communities.
