Nigeria, an African country on the Gulf of Guinea, has many natural landmarks and wildlife reserves. Protected areas such as Cross River National Park and Yankari National Park have waterfalls, dense rainforest, savanna and rare primate habitats. One of the most recognizable sites is Zuma Rock, a 725m-tall monolith outside the capital of Abuja that’s pictured on the national currency.

Nigeria (NW Africa) is the most populous nation in Africa commanding a staggering 200 million people with the Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa being the predominant people among other smaller tribes. The nation is endowed with oil (black gold), but the corruption and civil instability among other challenges, have kept the nationals in poverty and suffering. The divide between the haves, and the have-nots can be visible from those who live in affluence against those in squalor settings. The northern states (Hausa) are majority Islamic with the Christian communities paying with their own blood due to Boko Haram’s pursuit of establishing the Islamic Caliphate (ISIS).
