2020 June Newsletter

Dear Friends and Supporters of Live Connection

Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions.
With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make.
Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.   Proverbs 3:5-6 The Passion Translation (TPT)

What great words to live by, especially in these challenging times.

Legislative Assembly Hansard – 3 June 2020

Live Connection twentieth anniversary

Mr JONATHAN O’DEA (Davidson)—Live Connection is a ministry of Northgate Church and partners with over 170 rural, subsistent pastors from 12 countries. Northgate is located at Belrose in my Davidson electorate. It is a place of connection where the local and wider community can experience and share their faith. Live Connection has postponed its 20th anniversary dinner due to the Coronavirus situation, and is planning a 21st birthday event in its place. It expects to receive messages from its Regional Leaders, reflecting on its history and recognising its vision for the future. I congratulate Live Connection, and Northgate Church particularly, for its service and contribution to the community. The founders and leaders of Northgate Church, Paul and Renée Ravesteyn, continue to enthusiastically engage with their community. Executive Assistant Glenys Gers and others in the team provide wonderful ongoing support. I hope to celebrate with them and other members of the church community at the now planned 21st birthday celebration next year.

News from Around and About

“I would like to share with you the positive news that the local church here is growing steadfastly, thanks to God. Last month there were souls who received Christ in their lives and committed themselves to water baptism. We are continuing doing our prospecting and bible studies. In the midst of pandemic situation we still continue working our regular schedules daily. We’re asking our local government authorities to letting us to do worship using our church building. Praise the Lord! We did our Sunday worship every Sunday using our church building until now since the lockdown in our place was implemented.” Duero, Bohol, Philippines

“My husband has passed away living me without any child. In fact God blessed us with two children but all passed away before my husband. Therefore the passing of my husband brought a very big pain in my life as he was only the bread winner in the House. Though he was old and could not work but there was a special grace attached to him which brought food to us including your support.  That is why I am here to praise the Lord for your support. It has helped me to buy food and clear out some debits which my husband has left.                     God blessed me with singing therefore I will continue blessing His people through singing.”  Nsanje,

Malawi

“We have many different cultures in our area and so we minister to a very diverse group of people, as South Africa is a nation with various cultural groups from all over Africa.

There are people from other African countries like Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and they love the Lord. There part of us as a congregation now. Our services are conducted in the isiZulu language and then interpreted in English. We have now become an international church

We are also becoming more involved in train ministry, where we minister in trains, as we closely situated near the train station.  We also have a Hospital ministry, where we visit hospitals and pray with people giving them hope through the Word of God. We have seen many lives been changed through His mighty power. “ Bux Farm, South Africa

Bibles for Pastors:  We have recently been blessed with a generous donation to assist in the provision of Bibles for pastors that so far, don’t own one.  How wonderful it has been to be the conduit in the provision of these vital words of life.  The donation has been divided up and shared among the different countries based on numbers provided by the Regional Leaders.

If you would like to assist in the provision of Bibles, just contact Anne (anne@liveconnection.org) – there is always a need.
