2021 April Newsletter
Dear Live Connection Friends and Partners
After stepping down as Senior Pastor of Northgate Ministries, Paul and Renee are on a well deserved holiday. Please keep them in your prayers. We pray they will come back refreshed and renewed for the task at hand.
These three little beauties came into my office, as you can see, beaming from ear to ear… (photo used with permission)
They had had a sale of pre-loved toys and books, and brought half of their takings for Live Connection-
it brought a tear to my eye – a smile to my face, and really made my day!
It is wonderful to know that God prompts and uses all of us – some in big ways, and some in small – to further His Kingdom. We just need to be sensitive – and obedient to the leading and guiding of The Holy Spirit.
With so many conflicting voices all around us, Proverbs 22:6 is a timely reminder to
“Train up a child in the way she should go…” Either we train them God’s way – or they will be lost to the world and its ways.
Letters and photos from happy Bible recipients continue to come in. This story, from Moses in Zambia, reminds me of the old day colporteurs who, by all means, made sure that Bibles be made available even in the most remote places. Just imagine riding pillion for 5 hours one way, on a motorbike, with all those Bibles, over terrible roads…
“I just came back from Nzoche to deliver the Bibles to the leaders under Pastor Bernard Silomba’s leadership. Nzoche is along the border of Zambia and Malawi in Isoka district. It is over 250km from Chinsali on the northeast. I left Chinsali by bus in the early hours of Tuesday, I spent the night in Isoka. Then the following day, yesterday, Wednesday, I proceeded to Nzoche with Benedict on his motorcycle from Isoka at around 07hrs. We rode on the 150km road which is extremely in a deplorable state. We crossed streams without bridges until we arrived there after 12hrs midday. No motor vehicles go there because of the state of the road. We found the leaders from the churches from within the area. Two church representatives were from the Malawian side. After presenting all the 30 Namwanga Bibles to them, I then had a chance to lead them into the Word on salvation by grace. After all was done, everyone couldn’t hide their joy. About the Bibles, they said, we have never received Bibles from anyone from the time we started these churches. There is nowhere were we can find a copy of a Bible in this place. Please pass our message of appreciation to the Live Connection family who have thought about us. We have no better words to show our gratitude to them. We only ask God to bless them more as they bless others. The pastor gave out twenty Bibles to the key leaders who were available. The other ten copies where reserved for the other key leaders who failed to come due to challenges in their movements. They have 15 churches within their catchment, some of which are very far away from Nzoche, their main centre. They also thanked God for their Pastor, Bernard, who have been connected to the Live Connection. I also thank the Lord for Benedict who released his motorcycle and was willing to accompany me on the trip.”
