2018 December – Indonesian Visit

Paul, Glenyce & Mal joined Dan Hardie and Dave Giesbers from Lifewords on a lightening fast scoping trip to Indonesia to investigate potential new work with Live Connection.
Our great hospitable and enthusiastic host was Pastor Gunar Sandari, Founder and Director of the SGM Lifewords Bible College in Tangerang, Jakarta.
What a privilege to spend time with these people passionate about the gospel of Jesus Christ!
Pastor Gunar Sandari not only has a huge heart for the poor and marginalized, but is also passionate about training young people in Bible College to share the gospel in an effective manner in a Muslim country.
During that time there were eight speaking engagements: engaging with children and adults at two different slum locations; addressing 50 students in a Bible College class; addressing over 200 in the whole College; engaging with children and adults at an orphanage; participating in an evening service at a leper colony; undertaking Leadership Training with pastors currently working in Jakarta then completing the trip by again addressing a class of 30 at the Bible College.
The team resolved to pursue how the work and mission of Live Connection can spread into this colourful and diverse country made up of over 1000 inhabited islands.
