Luke was born in Owing Ki Bul and is 30 years old. He is married to Gloria Edwin and they have been blessed with 2 daughters. He grew up in a Catholic family and was saved in 2003. They are currently living in Torit province, South Sudan.
Ministry
Luke did not plant a church but is pastoring the Addis Ababa Evangelical Free church in South Sudan but comes under the N Ugandan Regional Leader. The Church has different ministries for the Sunday school and the Youth. There is also a Drama club and a women’s ministry.
Mission
Luke’s mission is to make disciples of all nations and he has a vision to reach as much of his community as possible with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Overview
The Republic of Uganda is home to many different ethnic groups. Its capital is Kampala. Overall population is 30.9 million. 85% of the population live in rural areas and more than two thirds of the country’s poor people are farmers. Successive periods of political change in the last 30 years have affected rural people in particular. Uganda is known for its “Night commuters” – children who walk miles every night to avoid abduction by the rebel “Lord’s Resistance Army” which kidnaps children to work as soldiers or to be used as wives. 2 million children (approximately 20%) of all Ugandan children are orphans who have lost one or both parents to the HIV/AIDS virus.
