“ For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,” 2 Cor 2:15.

“ For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,” 2 Cor 2:15.
Imagine never having experienced the sweet fragrance of a perfume! When Paul quoted this verse to the rural pastors in Malawi, he realised that not one of them had any idea what the Scripture meant, until Christine produced a bottle of expensive perfume. As he lavishly sprayed it on them, the Scripture burst to life – and they all got it! A truly powerful illustration of how tangible experiences can illuminate spiritual truths.
We continue to receive great feedback from the pastors who attended the recent Mission Trip training sessions. Highlights include:
Pastors focusing more on their communities – not just their churches.
‘Table Banking’ – a simple group funding strategy where members pool savings to start income-generating projects to lift themselves out of poverty.
Pastors seeing themselves not as 'The Pastor' to be looked up to, but following Jesus' model of a ‘Servant Leader’.

ROSIE’S STORY
Rosie’s husband, Stanley, was one of the very first Zimbabwean pastors. Sadly, he was killed in a car crash in 2010, leaving Rosie with four young children. She took up the mantle and continues to pastor the church. Here’s part of her story:
“Since our time at the conference, I'm now giving more time to preach to non-believers than to the congregation. I also increased the number of ladies learning about sewing from 10 per week to 20.
I will have the opportunity to make disciples by honestly sharing who God is and what knowing Him means to me. And to teach them to love their neighbours as Jesus does!
Sometimes the ladies contribute $1 per person. We pool the money together, and then we buy things like elastic for shorts, zips, and material. When you see them holding the material, it's about sharing. That's how they get material for lessons. Sometimes they just bring material from home.
I also learned a lot about being a pastor who cares for the saints, encouraging them to participate in every event that happens, not worshipping me, but worshipping Jesus. We also need to teach the children so they grow up knowing Jesus. I’m very happy and grateful for your support.
Thank you, thank you. I am so happy and may God bless you all.”

The AGM was held as advertised, and our office bearers elected for the coming year are:
A huge thank you to all our wonderful partners as we continue to empower and encourage our subsistent Christian Leaders.
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38
