We have had the most amazing feedback from the pastors after this latest Mission trip. Many of you will have received videos from your pastors, but we thought this letter was worth sharing!
Jeffrey Muleya works in the Binga area, in the far north, on the Zambezi River, the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia..
This is Jeffrey Muleya from Zimbabwe, Shalom. I got clarity and inspired by the Live Connection vision. Thank you! We had a refreshing moment with you in Zimbabwe. May the Lord continue his goodness towards you and your beloved ones for your obedience to God in accepting to take up such a critical task of encouraging the church globally into the prophetic context of Matthew 28:18-20. "Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
I was personally encouraged by the nature of the Live Connection vision, which encourages soul winning and economic empowerment. The passion for rural missions is the one that laid a burden for me to translate the word of God into the language of the people their chiefs and native community leaders who must hear God speak to them in their heart language. The project is not moving as fast as I hoped due to constraints, which includes COVID induced lockdowns in recent years and financial restrictions.
After completing the written version of the Bible in chiTonga which will be useful to the Tonga populations in 9 Tonga speaking districts/areas, spread in 3/10 provinces of Zimbabwe, besides smaller populations scattered across cities and other areas of the country, and the Southern province of neighbouring Zambia, including the city of Lusaka.
My team also intends to produce an Audio Bible version in Tonga.
This is to cater for the illiterate population in remote parts of the Tonga community, the visually impaired, as well as the literate but busy people who have no time to sit down and read the written text, due to work, business or other commitments.
This is my wild dream, for which I need prayer support from hearts that can relate to this heart’s cry, around the world.
Part of our translation team has gone through 6 years of training in Conservation Agriculture with a Ministry called Operation Trumpet Call which was Directed by pastor Wessie, and I led one of the 72 Agriculture demonstration sites in Zimbabwe during the period.
In leading my team, we have managed to get 2 huge pieces of land from local leadership. This land is available for agricultural activities to finance the continuation of the translation work. We have the skills to do the farming projects. The challenge is lack of water.
We need boreholes and fencing to keep animals out.
Fresh Water will also serve immediate communities because safe and clean water is a challenge in many of our communities. When you pray for me, and our Bible translation projects, these are the issues we face.
May you all have an experience of Luke 5:1-10 in your own lives and ministries.
Jeffrey.
